  • I combine the teachings and practices of two favorite teachers in my coaching work:

Martha Beck, Ph.D., is a Harvard-trained sociologist and famously known as Oprah’s coach. Her tools range from ancient, time-tested practices to modern scientific practices, which continue to evolve in response to emerging research in psychology, neuroscience and other sciences.

Abraham-Hicks teaches that anything we can imagine is ours to be, or do, or have, and they provide numerous processes toward that end.

For those seeking to create a life they love, Martha’s brilliant coaching framework/tools coupled with the Abraham-Hicks processes is a truly powerful approach!

About the Power of Feeling Good

Those of us who are sensitive and in touch with our feelings know that you can’t elude your emotions. You can’t easily side-step them or trick yourself into feeling something different than you do. When your emotions don’t feel good, trying to pretend they’re not there and telling yourself that you feel better than you really do just doesn’t work.

Feeling better, when you’re not feeling good, can seem impossibly out-of-reach. But with understanding, applied technique, focus, and practice, it doesn’t have to be that way.

The emotions that you feel are actually part of a very sophisticated guidance system within you. Some emotions feel wonderful and some feel terrible, but they are all equally important in providing valuable information as to how you are doing in the moment.

The Abraham-Hicks Emotional Guidance Scale (pictured here) is a useful tool for understanding emotions. Emotions at the very top of the scale indicate that you’re in your greatest state of connection to the highest part of yourself. Emotions at the very bottom of the scale indicate that you’re in your greatest state of disconnection.

As you go through your day, you can find yourself at many different places on the emotional scale, depending on what’s going on in your world. While you can be “all over the board” at times, you typically have an “emotional setpoint,” a place where you usually “trend,” depending on the subject.

With a little focus and practice, it is possible to change your emotional setpoint, i.e., move up the emotional scale so that you genuinely do begin feeling much better than you have been.

Befriending your emotions and welcoming their guidance is a fundamental first step. Having the desire to feel better and knowing how to baby-step your way up the scale are necessary elements to include.

As you learn and practice the skill of guiding yourself to better-feeling states of being you will soon find yourself “trending” on higher levels of the Emotional Guidance Scale.

If you are knowledgeable about the Law of Attraction, you will recognize that “trending on the upper portion of the scale,” as opposed to the lower portion, significantly improves your “point of attraction.” And this explains why things really do begin to get better when you feel better.

We can’t elude or side-step our emotions. But we can befriend them, understand them and harness their guidance to live our very best lives.
